Once you have rented a roll off dumpster, you must prepare the check location so that the dumpster can be delivered successfully. Dumpster rental is commonly used for remodelling, moving, cleaning, and roofing projects. When you are prepared for your dumpster delivery, dumpster rental is simple, dependable, and safe. Follow these simple guidelines to ensure a smooth dumpster delivery!
1. Clear the Area for Delivery
Make sure there is enough space for your dumpster before you arrive. Vehicles and job site debris should be moved out of the way before the dumpster arrives. The driver will need enough space to drop off your dumpster. Trucks need a lot of room (width and height) to deliver and unload your dumpster. Making space for your dumpster before it arrives allows the truck easy access, resulting in a safe and timely dumpster drop off.
2. Driveway Protection
Do you want to add an extra layer of security to your driveway or parking lot? We recommend putting wood under the dumpster’s wheels and in front of it. Two sheets of plywood or three pieces of 26 lumber will suffice. Providing wood can help to protect your driveway from damage. Our driver will ensure that the wood is properly adjusted.
3. Look Up!
It is critical to be aware of what is above the area where your dumpster will be delivered. Trees, overhead wires, and cables should be avoided in the drop zone. Having enough clearance above the area will allow the delivery truck to easily drop off and retrieve.
4. Room for the door to swing open
Allow at least 6 feet of extra space if you are using the dumpster’s back door. This allows the dumpster door to swing open, giving you complete access to the contents of your dumpster. A fully open door makes garbage disposal easier and more convenient.
5. Ascend to the Top
It is critical that you do not fill your dumpster more than halfway. You don’t want your dumpster to overflow. When there is too much hazardous waste in a dumpster, transportation can become hazardous. If there is an overflow of waste, your dumpster cannot be picked up for safety reasons. Maintaining a reasonable level of fill in your dumpster allows for safe transportation.
6. Distribute the Weight Evenly
Make certain that the weight of your dumpster is evenly distributed. During your project, take the time to evenly distribute the contents of the dumpster. Efficient distribution frequently results in more space! Uneven weight distribution in your dumpster can cause it to shift unexpectedly during retrieval or transportation. This can be harmful to your workplace and disposal workers.
7. Weight Limits
In South Carolina, dumpsters have a maximum weight limit of 6 tons. Dumpsters in spartanburg have a 4-ton maximum weight limit. The state establishes mandatory hauling limits for safety and transportation reasons. Heavy materials such as rock, dirt, stone, shingles, and drywall can quickly accumulate. Additional fees may apply if your dumpster exceeds the weight limit.
